For the 23rd time AZO Osterburken held a technology day, this time for selected customers from the business area AZO®Chem. For more than 65 years, AZO has been part of to the world of automation technology for raw materials, bulk goods and liquids.
Intensive exchange of experience is a part of a reliable relationship with the customer. The AZO customer center with its bulk goods laboratory, the comprehensive exhibition room and the test center for raw materials handling offers the ideal framework for practice oriented transfer of knowledge. At AZO technology days it is not only about presenting the AZO know how to the customer. It is more about additionally conveying expert knowledge along the entire process chain by means of external speakers.
The technology day highlighted the interesting topic: “Continuous processes on the rise! Vision or state of the art?” Still, in many industrial areas the batch process is predominant. This means that certain amounts of a product are subsequently mixed in a mixer. After complete discharge and, if needed, cleaning of the mixer, a new batch of the raw materials used can be fed and mixed. However, in a continuous mixing process, the raw materials are continuously fed, mixed and transported. In everyday life, these processes can be seen in the chemicals area in the paint and varnish industry, the construction and fine chemicals industry as well as in the area of personal care products, cosmetics and washing and cleaning agents. The pros and cons of a continuous process as well as the challenges that arise when introducing this process were highlighted and elaborated on by lectures held by external and internal experts. The AZO customers used the lively discussions to ask questions. Furthermore, the participants were enthusiastic about the extensive company tour which led through the manufacturing, the test center with bulk goods laboratory as well as the exhibition room with a cross section of the AZO product portfolio. Dieter Huspenina, Global Business Director at AZO®Chem, was very satisfied with the event.
Once again this event showed us that the AZO concept to integrate customers and partners into the research and development via seminars and technology days has proved its worth.
