70 years of AZO – One company. One family.

Open house on 15 September

This was the guiding principle for our anniversary celebration in September with open day and an evening event for employees and we can look back on an all-round successful anniversary weekend.

All interested parties were cordially invited to the open day on Sunday in Osterburken. Where otherwise forklifts and trucks usually operate, around 7,500 visitors filled the streets, paths and halls of AZO in wonderful late summer weather. The company premises were transformed into a huge festival area.

Thus, numerous departments of the company did not miss the opportunity to develop and present their own attractions. Visitors could compete in a digital four-way match at the IT 4.0 Games, prove their balance on a pipeline course, become part of a human kicker at the AZO footballers themselves or overcome as quickly as possible the obstacles of a crazy labyrinth built of cardboard. In addition, visitors could take part in an AZO rallye, where they had to answer 16 questions and could win attractive prizes.

Using the legendary AZO cyclone screener, a journey through time  was presented from the founding of the company up until today. The control technology also looked back on the beginnings of automation with a time travel consisting of pictures and hardware. The comparison between a technical drawing on the drawing board and the digital 3D VR glasses, through which visitors could run through complete AZO systems in virtual reality, also showed the huge development in 70 years of company history. Trainees and students introduced the apprenticeships and dual courses of study that AZO offers and presented the results of their student research projects. The spacious training centre was open to visitors for a walkthrough. Furthermore, the electrical production, the customer centre, the bulk materials laboratory, the assembly hall, the sheet metal centre and the production centre were also open to visitors. A total of almost 80 AZO employees were on hand to provide competent answers to questions about the individual production steps. Last but not least, there was even an art exhibition with works to be admired, because among the AZO employees there are also some artists.

The local clubs and schools as well as the Tungl company provided delicious food, refreshing drinks and numerous entertainment opportunities for young and old. From a bungee trampoline and a Spyder Tower to an anti-stress truck and air rifle shooting, there was really something for everyone.
