Brussels visits Osterburken

How much bureaucracy can the economy tolerate?

At AZO, we take the motto "Not just complaining, but taking action!" to heart. That's why we didn't let the visit of the Member of the European Parliament and CDU/CSU Group Chairman, Daniel Caspary, go to waste. As part of his constituency tour in the Neckar-Odenwald district, Mr. Caspary made a stop at our company and engaged in an open dialogue, addressing questions and criticism from medium-sized businesses.

Our management, represented by the Zimmermann family, Dennis Künkel, and Daniel Auerhammer, along with other employees from the IT, quality management, and product development departments, took this opportunity to express our concerns to Caspary regarding the increasing bureaucratic burdens resulting from the latest regulations of the European Union. We argued that these burdens not only affect the efficiency of our operational processes but also threaten our innovation and creative capacity as a company. Specifically mentioned were the EU Data Act & Cyber Resilience Act, the PFAS ban, and the EU Green Deal, which has triggered a veritable "regulatory tsunami."

During the visit, Caspary, our representatives, and the attending CDU county council candidates (Jürgen Galm, Klaus Gramlich, Marcel Hubl, Natascha Boger-Wieland, and Tobias Münch) exchanged views intensively on the impact of current EU legislation on the industry. We particularly discussed potential solutions to overcome the growing bureaucratic hurdles and strengthen our competitiveness.

Mr. Caspary expressed gratitude for our clear words and assured AZO of his full support. He emphasized the necessity of balanced regulation that fosters innovation and growth without hindering companies with excessive bureaucracy. The concerns of the companies are heard and understood within the CDU/CSU group in the European Parliament. As Daniel Caspary put it succinctly: "We need a policy of reason."

The encounter between Daniel Caspary and AZO underscores the importance of dialogue between the political sphere and the business community to find solutions to current challenges together. It also highlights our commitment to actively participate in shaping political frameworks to create a conducive environment for entrepreneurial growth. Because only this creates prosperity.

Daniel Caspary strongly urged inviting representatives of municipal politics to companies to broaden the political spectrum and highlight the concrete effects of excessive bureaucracy and overregulation.

Companies in Germany and Europe need practical solutions to secure their competitiveness and global significance - especially in these turbulent times.
